hi,

excuse my bad english, i am from austria. :s
i have a question about episode 4.13. in this episode they are making a porn movie in the "grotto"-ranch.

grete thinks that the crew ist filming an indipendent art film. in the german translation she says something about the danish director lars von trier. as you surely know, in germany and austria, grete and otto are danish. i would like to know, what grete says in the english original.

could you help me please?

many thanks

Hi Fichtenelch!

Nice user name! And good question! You know you could ask in the German forum below? Dabney is very helpful and knows both language versions!

I only know Otto says the Sundance Film Festival (a big independent movie festival in the USA) is just as good as the mainstream, commercial movies, and that making this movie may bring him closer to meeting his idol Rutger Hauer ('fluffing his pillow').

I didn't know if the writers realized Rutger Hauer is Dutch, not German! He said he named his son after Rutger in another episode, but I guess that Rüdiger would be far more common in German!

I didn't notice Gretchen saying anything close to filming with Lars von Trier in English.

Best,

Richard

hello fichtenelch,

i'm at my parents' at the moment, but as soon as i get home i'm gonna check my recordings and compare both versions. By the way, as richie already mentioned, we have a seperate German subforum. I would enjoy reading your thoughts there :)
