Allusion to "2001: A Space Odyssey" in episode "Cliques"

MITM episode Cliques (3.21) is better known as the Dominoes episode. When Hal gets obsessed about knocking over Dewey's intricate domino arrangement, he dreams of a giant domino tempting him at the end of his bed.

This is a clear allusion to the extraterrestial slab (or 'officially' monolith) appearing in various instances in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), arousing the earthlings' curiosity and advancing their knowledge.

The move contains some of the most iconic images of the cinema, referenced in shows like The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park and also the WALL-E and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movies. In the pictures, we see the 'apemen' and the dying astronaut connecting with the monolith.

If you're a science fiction buff, check it out, it's slow, excruciatingly slow, but also extremely intriguing, because it's open to lots of interpretations. It set the standard for all modern sci-fi movies.
