What was the greatest Season of Malcolm?

Wow, you really do hate a cripple! I thought you were just saying that. But those are some solid reasons, I suppose.

While I respect Ben's opinion, I have to strongly disagree. What in the world was wrong with Stevie's personality? He was caring, thoughtful, put up with crap from nature(as Sam stated) and, let's not forget, in the pilot Malcolm was a total ass to Stevie while Stevie was trying to be nice. Stevie rocks, man.:)
Anyways, back to the point...I think Ive already said it, but season 7 is my favorite for sentimental reasons, being it was the first(and last, now) new season of MITM I saw since I was a fan only by the time it aired. Like Ive stated before, I kick myself for not being a fan earlier during MITM's run. Plus, season 7 just rocked. It had FANTASTIC episodes and I believe all the actors(the boys plus Bryan and Jane) were in their peak of acting during the season.:)

You know what, I'm rewatching all the episodes in chronological order now, for enjoyment but also to identify set photos, but I can't decide on the season! There've always been stronger and weaker episodes in every season in my opinion, but to really arrive at a list of seasons, I would have to score each episode and add up the results. I couldn't think of any other way.

I said S1 was my favourite, but that was mainly for nostalgic reasons and the initial impact the series made.

I agree Dewey as a character (understandably) got more interesting as the series went along, Justin as Reese remained terrific, but Frankie as Malcolm developed an annoying tendency for two-note acting: either complete eyebrows-up bafflement or frowning bafflement-cum-irritation. I find that strange, because Frankie as a kid was one of the most expressive actors his age ever. Even then, he had some really great moments in episodes like "Ida's Boyfriend" and "Pearl Harbor". Jane and Bryan were impeccable throughout.

As for supporting actors who brought in new, interesting storylines, it's a toss-up. The great Cloris Leachman was introduced in S2, but then there was the terrific Daniel von Bargen as Spangler in S1, and the funny Mannkussers from S4.

The first season is 'classic' and, so I think has a special status. I certainly enjoying going back to the Season 1 DVD from time to time and getting back to the original essence of what the show started out as.

I like how it evolved over the years, though (for the most part). Season 4 is a particular favourite of mine -- Dewey's character gets some welcome development as the show becomes more of an ensemble, and Malcolm going to high school is an important transition too that throws up some new issues to tackle. I also like Francis and the ranch storylines -- there's a lot of fun to be had with that situation and those characters. Perhaps one of the disappointments of Season 4, however, is the departure and absence of the Krelboynes.

Really, I love the whole show -- the older stuff and the newer episodes are good for different reasons, but if I had to pick one favourite season, then Season 4 would probably win it.

Season 1 & 2 mainly S02 has the best and most hilarious episodes I liked to watch.

Casino, Traffic Jam, Malcolm vs Reese, Bowling Night, etc.

On season 1 "water park" from start to the end was fabulous!
