…we hear from an inside source at the show that the Frankie Muniz ep is super: “The episode focuses on a graphic novelist, and visually, it will be like no other Criminal Minds you have ever seen. The script is freakin’ amazing.”
So you say you want to make a movie?
I’m working with the Internet web site www.netstudio.tv to develop a short film. We’ve decided we want to make this short film in the Horror genre, and we’re looking for ideas.
It’s actually a contest. If you send in the ideas that we use, you can win cash and prizes.
Contestants can enter at any stage of the contest. Right now we’re at Stage One: The Pitch. THE DEADLINE FOR THIS FIRST PITCH IS OCTOBER 31 MIDNIGHT.[The deadline now seems to be in around 3 days] The deadlines for the following phases will be announced at a later date.
I’m the project’s showrunner. That means I’ll be coordinating the contest and writing the final script. If my schedule permits, I’d like to direct the short film…maybe even act in it.
The finished product will be broadcast on www.netstudio.tv It costs nothing to enter the contest. Please check out the site and go to “fright site.” If you’ve got a scary idea, I want to hear it!
Happy Haunting,
Bryan
Spalding Gray died in 2004, and “Stories Left to Tell” was assembled by his widow from his journals, monologues and other writings. The material is separated into five categories: love, adventure, family, journals and career. The first four sections where be performed by core company members Tom Bruno, Marcie Hoffman, John Kishline, co-artistic director Isabelle Kralj and Anderson.
A series of guest “celebrity” artists did the career category. This is where Jane Kaczmarek came in and put her skills to work.
We have some what neglected to comment on all the recent action going on the over at Clothes Off Our Backs. If you don’t know it’s a charity auctioning site founded by Jane Kaczmarek and her husband Bradley Whitford. The main focus is on celebrity items of clothing but they do branch out into other areas.
They completed their 6th Annual Emmy Auction last month, and have recently auctioned celebrity designed lingerie, including some designed by Jane herself raising $120,000. You can still bid on a corset designed by Jane here, and see photos below.
Here Jane talks about her work in the charity:
“I love to steam them and put them in boxes,” Kaczmarek said about the auction items. “Someone told me that Kaczmarek means custodian in Polish, and I really love that end of it. I know it sounds kind of odd, but I really love ironing. And I love making it look really, really beautiful, so when they open up the box they’ve got a gorgeous dress and beautiful, colored tissue paper.”
It’s not all dresses, either. There’s furniture from ArchitecturalDigest’s greenroom at the Emmy Awards. Kaczmarek has her eye on two green Holmby chairs. “I love them,” she said. “I thought I’d wait until the last minute to see if anybody moves on those and go in on that, because that stuff is gorgeous.”
Kaczmarek and Whitford’s oldest child, daughter Frances, is 10, and I asked if she has them bidding on things for her. Nope.
“She’s a very modest child,” Kaczmarek said. “I never have tabloids around the house, and they really don’t know who anybody is. We only have one TV in the house.”
Jane and Bradley have been honoured for the charity work:
Sam Nicholson’s Mediterranean villa in Pasadena was the setting for the second year for the annual benefit concert for Grace Center.
More than 200 guests turned out for the glamorous Casablanca-themed evening honoring actress Jane Kaczmarek and her husband, actor Bradley Whitford, for their community activism. The San Marino couple has supported several local philanthropies including the center, a Pasadena-based sanctuary for victims of domestic violence.
Justin Berfield (Reese) has confirmed on his official forum the news that he is producing a movie based on the true life story of famed cartel leader - Pablo Escobar.
“Escobar” has its financing in place, according to J2 partners Berfield and Felts. Production is slated to begin the in first quarter of 2008 in Colombia and Puerto Rico, and Jere Hausfater will handle international sales through Essential Entertainment. Pic will be introduced at the American Film Market.
The owners of J2, Jason Felts and Justin Berfield, declined through a spokesman to be interviewed. A statement from the spokesman said, “We are pleased to be working with Pablo’s brother, Roberto. Many people, the statement added, want to tell Escobar’s story, “but very few can tell it accurately”
As we reported previouslyMy Sexiest Year starring Frankie Muniz premièred at Hamptons International Film Festival. These photos are from that event.
Also as we have reported previously but up until now have been unable to confirm that THINKFilm has acquired North American distribution rights, but no release date has been set.
Official details and photos have now been release by AMC, on Bryan Cranston’s (Hal) latest project Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad, the next addictive original series from AMC, is a darkly comic drama that captures life at a moment of irrevocable change. In the ultimate mid-life crisis, high school chemistry teacher Walter White takes a match to his straight-laced existence and concocts a criminal new lifestyle.
Life becomes crystal clear for Walter when he discovers he is dying of lung cancer. With a new sense of fearlessness and desperate to secure his family’s financial future, Walter teams up with a former student to turn a used Winnebago into a rolling meth lab. Released from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society, Walter transforms from repressed everyman into empowered “entrepreneur”.
Created by Vince Gilligan (The X Files) and starring Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle), Breaking Bad takes us on a journey where everyday life combusts in an uncontrolled experiment with the American dream.
The series premieres in January 2008.
Other behind the scene photos can be seen here. More show details here.
Frankie was at the Hands on the Wheel safe driving campaign in Las Vegas at the end of last month. Frankie said:
If we just get the word out there and people try to tell their friends, don’t text while you are driving, it will help bring accidents down and make driving a lot safer.
