Frankie Muniz in ‘Danny Roane: First Time Director’

As most won’t know Frankie Muniz guest stars in Danny Roane: First Time Director which he filmed more than a year ago. But it has only been shown in a few film festivals to date. However its coming to DVD on November 6th. You can see Frankie in the trailer below, but from what I can tell he only has a small role playing himself.

Interestingly Andy Dick who stars and directs the film also directs Frankie’s latest project Division III.

UPDATE: Watch his full performance here.

New Movie Short with Bryan Cranston?

halNew movie short with Bryan Cranston? We’re not sure as there is very little information on this, the only sources being industrygigs.com and 2 Craig’s Lists postings. They are seeking a Gaffer/Set Dresser for a film called The Hollywwod Hollywood Quad.

The misspelling of Hollywood gives it less credibility but Jim Troesh is know as the Hollywood Quad and has a successful podcast of the same name, so a film based on him looks likely. He has also worked with Cranston in the past. We will keep you updated with any more news.

Frankie Muniz’s ‘Parental Guidance Suggested’ [Photo]

Frankie Muniz in Parental Guidance Suggested

Frankie Muniz (Malcolm) filmed another movie last year before going into racing that is also yet to be released and there is little information on when it will - Parental Guidance Suggested is a teen sketch sex comedy. There is no trailer and the only image of Frankie in the film is the one above.

Muniz stars as a teen who loses his virginity with his girlfriend (Schneider), only to find she wants to take things much further, including farm animals and midgets. In the film’s one ongoing sketch, Pinkston (best known as the kid prankster on MTV’s first season of “Punk’d”) plays an average high-schooler who falls for the cutest girl in his class but finds he’s looking for love in all the wrong places.

We will keep you up-to date with any more information.

On the Set of Frankie’s ‘My Sexiest Year’

frankieFrankie Muniz (Malcolm) stars in the yet to be released film My Sexiest Year. Which he filmed last year.

A romantic coming-of-age story in which the kindness bestowed by a glamorous model is returned 30 years later by the young man in whom she inspired the first stirrings of confidence and love.

There is very little information on the movie but I came across a write up from an extra on the set.

Frankie Muniz and Harvey Keitel were both very friendly and down to earth, although I had a difficult time getting over how teeny tiny Frankie actually is. The poor thing definitely gets his clothes at the Juniors Department, but he has beautiful clear green blue eyes……..

…..Amber couldn’t eat from the regular lunch buffet like all the other commoners and there ensued a frantic scavenger hunt for her demand of a fresh turkey wrap before she fainted from hunger… Needless to say, they got it to her just in the nick of time - phew. She laughed and kidded around with Frankie as they shot a scene involving a large ziploc bag full of weed (which looked an awful lot like catnip…) and fake stone crabs (alas, we extras were not fed fake stone crabs, but we did get to nibble on some scrumptious chocolate cake during one of the restaurant scenes)…….

……Out in a rush was Frankie particulary because i belive he wanted to change. (Who wouldnt?) Everyone was a sweet heart but what cracked me up is that because of Frankies height he had to stand on a box to kiss the model (Valetta) and it was just so fun to be in such a great experience……

Bryan Cranston (Hal) ‘Fallen’ Extras

Following up on our previous post on Bryan’s role as Lucifer on ABC’s Fallen: The trilogy has now aired but here is a behind the scenes video of Bryan in a sword fight.

MediaBlvd> What was working with Bryan Cranston like?
[Paul Wesley who plays Aaron Corbett, the lead] When I first heard that he was going to be playing Lucifer, I was a little bit surprised because he comes across as such a nice, funny, comedic guy. I’m a fan of his work, but I was like, “Okay, that’s a humorous take on the devil.” But then, after working with him, I learned that he’s such a great dramatic actor. It was a pleasure. I really learned a lot from him. I thought the scenes we did were really powerful, and I think he delivered. His approach was really interesting. He didn’t play the devil in a stereotypical way. He was very compassionate as Lucifer. I thought he was very likable. As an actor, he really came through for us. I think most actors would have played Lucifer with that evil grin and that demeanor, and I think it would have been much less interesting.

[Author Tom Sniegoski who wrote the book series upon which Fallen is based]“I didn’t really mind it when I was watching it,” he went on to add about the Lucifer portrayal in the films. “It was interesting, it was fun, and I liked the way they wrapped things up. But I felt that by making Lucifer the villain, the whole point of the book series was gone just in that portrayal of that character.” However, Sniegoski was very pleased with the choice of Bryan Cranston (Malcom In The Middle) to portray Lucifer. “I read that in Variety. I kind of sat for a minute and thought about it. It’s obvious that he’s a very good actor from Malcolm.” But Tom did end up having to defend that choice to his friends. “Now that I’ve seen it, I can back it up even more. When you first see the character, he’s very nice and fatherly. I thought that was a wonderful take on the character,” he said.
