DVD9 Version (7GB DVDs)

MITM. S01 & S02 - DVD 1
MITM. S03 & S04 - DVD 2
MITM. S05 & S06 - DVD 3
MITM. S07 - DVD 4 (DVD5 will do it perfectly, no need to waste a DVD9, if it's only all in standard resolution none hd)

MITM. S06 (9 eps only in HD) for 720p to fit in a DVD has to be broken up to two parts, 1st part in DVD 3 and 2nd part in DVD 4.

Yes, there are only 9 eps in HD on Season 6 the others have standard hdtv resolution which means they're average size is 170MB.

Have fun downloading and burning, oh please don't sell them, I'd hate you if you do that. :)

What are these DVD#'s? In the United States, in stores, everything seems to be DVD or Dual-Layer DVDs.

I also seem to notice dual-layers do not last as long probably because the layers are so thinly burned. Am I wrong?

I feel like a n00b now, even though I actually taken college courses on DVD authoring  lol

about DVD-5's, 9's and others

Hi, basically a DVD-x is named after a rounded up sum of how much space it can hold. For example: a 4.7 GB DVD would be a DVD5, whereas an 8.54 GB one would be a DVD9. Here is all of them:

The sides and layers are how many it has:

Desidnation No. of sides & layers Capacity (GB)
DVD-1 SS SL 1 - 1 1.46
DVD-2 SS DL 1 - 2 2.66
DVD-3 DS SL 2 - 2 2.92
DVD-4 DS DL 2 - 4 5.32
DVD-5 SS SL 1 - 1 4.70
DVD-9 SS DL 1 - 2 8.54
DVD-10 DS SL 2 - 2 9.40
DVD-14 DS DL/SL 2 - 3 13.24
DVD-18 DS DL 2 - 4 17.08

Hope this helps...

My guess is that for each type of DVD with higher capacity, you need special burning equipment? That is, except for the double-sided DVDs which you can simply burn on both sides? And does that require both special hardware and software?

What about models and makes, price tags?

You need a DVD Writer that does Dual Layer (DL) discs. 99% do these days, if you have an older PC you might need and upgrade. It isn't expensive around £50 or less.

Dual Layer is NOT "Double Sided" look at any recent commercial film DVD, its Dual Layer. They look identical. Personally unless you really need to reduce number of discs I wouldn't bother with DL discs, they are more expensive.
