Frankie Muniz appears set to join Pacific Coast Motorsport's 'junior team', US RaceTronics, for next season's Champ Car Atlantic campaign, although he is yet to officially announce it. Frankie followed a weekend spent in PCM colours at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez by making his first test outing with US RaceTronics as the team kick-started its winter development programme at Buttonwillow Raceway.

“it was an awesome experience,” said Muniz. “I learned so much, the car felt great, we ran 200 miles without an issue. I am excited to announce my plans for 2008 in the coming weeks.”

“The test went very well, it was an awesome experience," Muniz commented, "I learned so much, the car felt great, and we ran 200 miles without an issue. I got to run quite a lot of laps and felt very good about the car and where we were heading throughout the day. I to have been out of the car for a while now, so it's good to be back."

With each stint the former actor continued to improve his times and clearly became increasingly comfortable with his new surroundings.

The 2008 Champ Car Atlantic season begins on April 20 with the Long Beach Grand Prix.
