Open Applications for MITMVC 'Site Staff'

Want to help contribute, maintain and develop your favourite MITM based site? Then read on. :)

We are opening up some positions in the site:

Gallery Guru - Richiepiep (additional people still welcome)

Our gallery (http://www.malcolminthemiddle.co.uk/gallery) is one of the most popular places for people to visit.
We are looking for someone who is keen to help expand and develop the gallery, they will have special access for editing/uploading/organises and one of their main jobs will be too find images from other MITM/actor website/personal collections and add them to the gallery (giving credit to source) and possibly working with the Malcolm-France.com team.

Episode Enthusiast - Reese35 & Lucky Maroon

Our Episode Guide. http://www.malcolminthemiddle.co.uk/episodes
We are looking for someone with a good episode knowledge. One of their main jobs will be to get the new episode guide up and running, that means creating the new entries and expanding descriptions and episode details to make it the ultimate episode guide.

FAQ Freak

Simple but essential job, our FAQ (http://malcolminthemiddle.co.uk/forum/faq.php) is very small but could be a great site resource for new and old members. The job would involve getting as many good and useful FAQ entries added and organised. So someone with good general MITM knowledge is ideal.

News Nutter - PeterU

News is still very active even thought the show has ended we keep up with the news on the actors/directors/writers. The job is mainly working in Wordpress (so someone with wordpress experience is brilliant but not essential)

They will be pushing articles straight to the front page where we get on average 900 visits a day. They don't have to find the news themselves they will be working with me to get it on the site a quick as possible.

Anyone can apply in these open applications: old members, new members, frequent poster or occasional posters - its doesn't matter.

Just send me a PM (http://www.malcolminthemiddle.co.uk/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=8) saying why you would be good for the job. (doesn't have to be loads of writing)

Depending on the applications we *may* have multiple people on the same job.

The new site staff will get the honour of working and creating the site and will have a special forum status.

Upload any desktops/avatars etc to our gallery (in the members gallery). Then if you want to create a thread as well thats fine, you can do that in the The Wilkerson Times (http://www.malcolminthemiddle.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18).

Hi tj, I was looking at this link and then at the Episodes guide and I was wondering could I create some episodes guides, to start with season 2 because the episode guide page is looking a bit empty or maybee edit some season 1 ep guides because they could be improved, i.e episode 1 season 1 looses the slashes and some layouts need improving in the others, and a bit more info.

If you could give me a job here I could improve these pages.

Welcome smileyorilly, we hope you enjoy your stay. Thats great that your interested in working on the episode guide.

Currently the episode guide is still being worked on, as in the background workings not just the content. One of the bugs is the / slashes. I'm unable to open up the episode guide itself at the moment. I'm currently working on it.

However the main work for the content can be collected, edited and written in the forum.

Season 1 and Season 2 have already been started.

It would be great if you could work on those or another season if you wish.

Well, I applied and you said you'd contact me about it in the coming week...about a month ago. But, I don't hold it against you. You must be extremely busy and don't check your message box alot. So, when you have the time just PM me right back. :)

I also wanted staff position position and right now I`m thinking about working together with @deweyinthemiddle. What do you say?

Richiepiep
Jan 25, 2010, 12:41 PM
Yes, I've also made up my mind and I'd love to correct and expand the FAQ and 'About' sections in a way I've outlined here: http://www.malcolminthemiddle.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=2619

The main issue to me is, as I've said, to what extent we can copy promotional descriptions from Fox, BBC and other companies, and also character bios, FAQs and the like from sources like Internet Movie Database, Wikipedia, TV.com and TVGuide.com. There's also great defunct sites like 'Life Is Unfair' I'd love to (re)use.

Straight copies when they're fine, or creative rewrites to err on the side of caution? Of course, I intend to document my sources anyway, as I've done with most of the Gallery images.

I will also mark (asterisk, highlight etc.) changes I've made so others can review them.

TJ, just take your time, I'm in no hurry whatsoever.

Rich
