I think we all know Malcolm in Middle has a lot of interesting music in it. There isnt much new to talk about so I had an interesting thought. If we were in charge is there any particular bands or songs we would include in Malcolm. I had this thought because I was listening to Weezer and it occured to me they have a ton of songs that would have been great to fit into Malcolm in the Middle somehow.

you may remember Beverly Hills was actually played at the end of Malcolm's Money. Some others that would have been good are:

The ultimate theme song for Malcolm, would have been great for an episode like Malcolm holds his tounge where he makes an effort to change himself
The Good Life
Shivering in the cold
I'm bitter and alone
Excuse the bitchin'
I shouldn't complain
I should have no feeling
This feeling and this pain
As everything I need is denied me
And everything I want is taken away from me
But who do I got to blame?
Nobody but me

Domestic warfare, here is a good theme song for Forwards Backwards or Red Dress
Knock Down Drag Out War
It's all that I can do right now
To make it up to you somehow
And meet you on the other side of home
Take no prisoners here in this knock-down drag-out war
That we're waging on each other forever more

THe ultimate Hal theme song for when he gets carried away on any one of his crazy hobbies and has a breakdown.
Undone - the sweater song
If you want to destroy my sweater
Hold this thread as I walk away
Watch me unravel I'll soon be naked
Lying on the floor, I've come undone

Butterfly is the song for what Malcolm almost did on thanksgiving, I wont copy the suggestive lyrics here.

The Reese song for ARMY BUDDY
Pink Triangle
When I think I've found a good old-fashioned girl
Then she puts me in my place
If everyone's a little queer
Can't she be a little straight?

I'm dumb she's a lesbian
I thought I had found the one
We were good as married in my mind
But married in my mind's no good

Oh, pink triangle on her sleeve
Let me know the truth, let me know the truth

The perfect song for Secret Boyfriend
Why Bother
I know I should get next to you
You've got a look that makes me think you're cool
But it's just sexual attraction
Not somethin' real so I'd rather keep wackin'

Why bother? It's gonna hurt me
It's gonna kill when you desert me
This happened to me twice before
It won't happen to me anymore
There is even a verse in there for when he approaches Jessica and she dumps him too
It's a crying shame I'm all alone
Not with you, nor her, nor anyone
Won't you knock me on my head?
Crack it open let me out of here

Why bother? It's gonna hurt me
It's gonna kill when you desert me
This happened to me twice before
It won't happen to me anymore

This one reminds me of Reese joins the army he lets Malcolm have the girl and he tears her photo up.
Photograph
If you want it (Ooh Ooh Ooh)
You can have it (Ooh Ooh Ooh)
But you've got to learn to reach out there and grab it (Ooh Ooh Ooh)

Cuz everybody wants some love (Oh Baby)
Shooting from the stars above (Oh Baby)
And though my heart will break
There's more that I could take
I could never get enough

If you need it (Ooh Ooh Ooh)
You should show it (Ooh Ooh Ooh)
Cuz you might play so monastic that you blow it

Cuz everybody wants some hope (Oh Baby)
Something they can barely know (Oh Baby)
And though my heart will break
There's more that I could take
I could never let it go

It's in the photograph
It's in the photograph
It's in the photograph of love

And finally a general theme song for all the activities and junk they have, comic books and posters and Hal's place of refuge, the Garage. Including an ode to Malcolm learning the Meow mix song on his electric guitar there.
In the Garage
I've got the dungeon Master's Guide
I've got a 12-sided die

I've got Kitty Pryde
And Nightcrawler too
Waiting there for me
Yes I do, I do

I've got posters on the wall
My favorite rock group Kiss

I've got Ace Frehley
I've got Peter Criss
Waiting there for me
Yes I do, I do

In the garage
I feel safe
No one cares about my ways

In the garage
Where I belong
No one hears me sing this song
In the garage

I've got an electric guitar
I play my stupid songs

I write these stupid words
And I love every one
Waiting there for me
Yes I do, I do

In the garage
I feel safe
No one cares about my ways

In the garage
Where I belong
No one hears me sing this song

OK this post is silly but who has other songs or bands that fit? I really think Weezer fits perfectly with Malcolm. Maybe someone can edit one of those tribute videos people like to post on YouTube with these songs? I wrote this post while listening, if you don't know these songs you probably think Im crazy, oh well!

This post isn't silly, it's actually pretty cool.

But I agree about the Weezer thing. I love them.

May be just my personal opinion, but I'd love Radiohead's more angsty songs for a few random episodes.

Simple Plan - Welcome To My Life

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong,
and no one understands you?
Do you ever want to run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on,
turned up so loud?
That no one hears you screaming?

No you dont know what its like.
When nothing feels alright.
You dont know what it's like
To be like me.

To be hurt.
To feel lost.
To be left out in the dark.
To be kicked when you're down.
To feel like you've been pushed around.
To be on the edge of breaking down.
When no one's there to save you.

No you don't know what it's like...
Welcome to my life.

Do you want to be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more,
before your life is over?
Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With their big fake
smiles and stupid lies.
When deep inside you're bleeding.

No you don't know what it's like.
When nothing feels alright.
You don't know what it's like
To be like me.

To be hurt.
To feel lost.
To be left out in the dark.
To be kicked when you're down.
To feel like you've been pushed around.
To be on the edge of breaking down.
When no one's there to save you.

No you don't know what it's like.
Welcome to my life.

No one ever lies straight to your face.
No one ever stabbed you in the back.
You might think I'm happy but
I'm not going to be okay.
Everybody always gave you what you wanted.
You never had to work it was always there.
You dont know what it's
like, what it's like.

To be hurt.
To feel lost.
To be left out in the dark.
To be kicked when you're down.
To feel like you've been pushed around.
To be on the edge of breaking down.
When no one's there to save you.

No you don't know what it's like.
Welcome to my life.
Welcome to my life.
Welcome to my life....

I think a Blink-182 song, or possibly many Blink-182 songs, will fit pefect for Malcolm in the Middle, since Blink-182 has a lot of teenage troublemaker music (sorry, best i can put it) rebelious anthems possibly. not really teeange angst since that is more what emo music is, and the MITM kids were not depressed (omg that would be funny, if any of them were actually emo, i think Malcolm is the most possible of being one)

Here is one:

Blink-182 - Dick Lips
Please mom, you ground me all the time
I know that I was right, all along

And I'm hoping. Remember I'm a kid, I know not what I did
Just having fun

...

Can I blame it on one of my dumb friends
It's been awhile since I have used that line

lol my favorite parts of that song

too bad almost 90% of their songs is about a girl, lol.
