The end of Softball.

So, I watched Softball for the first time in... well, possibly ever. Loved it. But that's beside the point, one thing that I didn't quite 'get' was the ending. I mean, was it from Malcolm's point of view? Did he realise that in his eyes he would always be viewed as a kid? That he did end up "as a drooling infant" like Francis? That when ever he was around his mum he would regress? That deep down he was jealous of the baby? Or was it from Lois' view, that he would always be her little boy? Perhaps a combination? I don't know. That's why I'm asking for help.

It as a nice touch, though, that they altered his voice, and actually made him look much younger though.

I think it could be inferred however you like. How I have always thought of it is this: Malcolm just wants to be left alone by his mother, or so he thinks, but then he realizes that he's never going to get rid of his mother so he should embrace her instead.
