Favorite Christmas episode

I just wanted to know what everyones favorite Christmas episode is(and you don't have to tell me. Yes, I know it's not Christmas nor December:D ;) ).
My personal favorite is definatly "Hal's Christmas Gift", and for many reasons, which are:
1. It's a HILARIOUS episode(one of my favs. of the whole show).:)
2. It showed very good Christmas spirit by having the boys make gifts for Hal and Lois(it actually touched my heart. We need more stuff like that in this commercialist world). :)
3. It showed the family FINALLY having fun together!(although Malcolm probably wouldn't enjoy it if he found out they used his secret credit card). ;) :D
Anyways, it's just a lighthearted, fun, FUNNY episode, and I loved it.:) Anyway, which of the Christmas episodes did you guys like most?
(The Christmas eps, in case you forgot):
1. Chirstmas
2. Christmas Trees
3. Hal's Christmas Gift(My fav!)

I totally agree with everything you said. As a matter of fact, I just recently watched Hal's Christmas Gift--it definitely doesn't have to be Christmas to enjoy it!! One of my favorite scenes from the whole series is when Lois is having her carfight in that episode. This one was great because it was funny but written with extreme love--perfect combo!

My favorite Christmas episode would have to be Christmas. I love how Lois took away the boys' presents and locked them in the garage. It was also really funny when Lois was on the bed crying and screaming about how she's a monster and Hal was trying to console her. Hal's Christmas Gift was a very close second though. I never really liked the episode Christmas Trees, although the part with Craig and the rabid squirrel was pretty great. :)

  1. Christmas
  2. Hal's Christmas Gift
  3. Christmas Trees
I mean, seriously, who could forget Reese crying over his burning stocking on the fireplace? :D:D

I have to admit, one thing I REALLY loved about "Christmas" is that sweater Hal is wearing(the rudolph with the flashing nose!):D . And after Lois "cancels" Christmas he has to turn it off.:D

Didn't he wear that same sweater in a future Christmas episode? Or in some other completely unrelated episode? Or am I just crazy? :D It's great that Hal likes Christmas so much.

I believe, if Im not mistaken, he wore it twice..first in "Christmas", then in "Christmas Trees". And yes, if you watch "Christmas", Hal states that he LOVES Christmas.:D Which is cool.

I'd have to say the 1st one Christmas! I just think that one is a classic mitm episode! I always like to watch that episode at Christmas! And Ida is in it! I love all the episoeds shes in!
The part with her telling Francis about the couch that doesen't fold-out is hilarious!:D

But Hals Christmas Gift is definitly another brillient one! And Hal's expressions at the part with him and Lois in the car is so so so funny!:D
The bit when he watches the boys run out of the car and he says 'Off they scamper!lol!
Me and my sister used to watch that one part so many times after we taped it!hehe!:)

I like Christmas because, as Reesegurl said, it's just a classic MITM episode. Lois cancelling Christmas, the boys breaking in the garage to get thier presents only to realize they were wrong, then Lois not even getting mad at them for doing it. I also liked the Francis driving Ida crazy with the musical Christmas card. :D

Hal's Christmas gift was good too. My favorite parts in that were everyone making gifts for one another (except Malcolm) and Lois's carfight. Christmas trees was Ok, but I didn't like it as well as the others. It was more about selling the trees to make a profit than it was about actually celebrating Christmas, but it was pretty funny how Otto's dysfunctional family made Francis miss home.

I have to admit that I never really cared for "Christmas Trees" too much, either. I don't know why, it's just...I can't put my finger on it, but I just never liked that episode.
And Christina- After Francis started getting on Ida's nerves with the Christmas cards, did she stab him in the leg with a crochet needle?:D

Yes, she did. It was a knitting needle though, not a crochet needle. Knitting needles are pointed, crochet needles are curved (don't ask how I know that. :D ) That was really funny! :D

Im gonna ask anyway..how do you know that?:D
It was so funny because it was unexpected. Francis starts bugging her and she grabs that big needle and just stabs him in the leg with it!:D

I know that because I took a knitting class with my sister (per her request) last year. It's not something I do that often though--in fact, I don't do it at all much anymore. I was working on a blanket a while back, but I haven't worked on it in months. It's a nice skill to have if I need to make people cheap Christmas gifts in the future though. :D

Francis could've probably had her arrested for assult with a deadly weapon if he wanted to. :D Knitting needles are pretty sharp and could do a lot of damage to someone if used as a weapon. :D

Lol, YOU took a knitting class?:D
Anyway, in that episode, didn't Francis also have to retrieve something from under Ida's dress while she was sleeping?:D

Yeah, like when you're an old cheap grandma. :D

For the record, it was NOT my idea. My sister wanted to do it and she didn't want to take the class by herself. It was an act of charity. :D

And yes, Francis had to retrieve Ida's burning cigarrette when she fell asleep and it dropped from her hand, then burned a hole through her dress. I'm sure it was a very tramatic experience.

According to you, I already look like an "old, fat grandma" (even though I'm neither old, nor fat.) So being cheap naturally follows, I suppose.

1. Christmas Trees
2. Christmas
3. Hal's Christmas Gift

Christmas Trees ranks in at number one because of the squirrel chase and Gretchen and Otto's family. Christmas came in at number two because of the "denial" approach and the touching garage art. Last, Hal's Christmas Gift came in at number three because of one of my few unliked Malcolm in the Middle plots: Malcolm's exclusion. It was funny, of course, but I just didn't seem to appreciate it that much.

How could you not like Hal's Christmas Gift!? I will grant you that Malcolm's exclusion was the weak part of the plot, as it was with a few season six episodes that come to mind (No Motorcycles/Living Will anyone?) but the overall episode was brilliant and the Malcolm plot was downplayed quite a bit. Besides, it set up a great quote: "Malcolm, I am not going to stand here in a public toilet and rate me, Dewey, Reese, Jamie, and you in order of popularity." And the Lois car crash scene was one of my favorite of the entire series.

I'm glad the Malcolm plot was downplayed, because if it hadn't been that might have made an episode that I actually didn't like overall (and that would have been terrible). I do admit that those two scenes were great and really helped make the episode a good one, but I guess I just didn't like the episode as much as the other two. Oh, and don't forget "Bloggle!" in the episode's defense -- the stick figures with pictures of the family glued on them were hysterical.
