Justin Berfield’s J2 Pictures Update

J2 Pictures, Justin’s film production company gets a new head of production.

J2 Pictures has tapped producer James Reach as its head of production.

Shingle, run by actor-producer Justin Berfield and Jason Felts, has several projects in the works including “Escobar,” the feature about the late Colombian druglord to be directed by Antoine Fuqua and exec produced by Oliver Stone; “Who Is Doris Payne”; and “Garcia,” a biopic about Grateful Dead founder Jerry Garcia. Berfield and Felts also have a smallscreen arm called J2TV.

Reach first worked with J2 on “Blonde Ambition,” a Millennium Films pic starring Luke Wilson and Jessica Simpson. He recently produced his first full-length feature, “Something’s Wrong in Kansas,” and co-founded Jetcast.com, an online aggregator he sold in 2005.

“Escobar” is skedded to begin lensing in Puerto Rico and Colombia in the first quarter. Shingle is developing “Who Is Doris Payne,” about the career of the jewel thief, now 76, and is working with Carolyn “Mountain Girl” Garcia on its biopic about Jerry Garcia’s early years.

I guess it’s going to re-brand as J3 now?

OK! Magazine on Frankie Muniz and ‘My Sexiest Year’

As we have reported previously, Frankie’s film My Sexiest Year premièred at the Hamptons International Film festival and OK! Magazine where there and have just released their write up of the event.

It was a sexy feast for the cast of My Sexiest Year at the Hamptons International Film Festival. Harvey Keitel, Daphna Kastner, Frankie Muniz and model-turned-actress Karolina Kurkova dined at Prime 103 to toast the premiere of their coming-of-age dramedy and OK! joined them for the four-course meal……..On the menu were steak, salmon and lobster risotto, topped off with banana spring rolls for dessert, and everyone scarfed the dishes down.

As for Frankie, he’s finally back at work in the field that made him a household name after a two-year sabbatical. Following Malcolm in the Middle’s cancellation, the 21-year-old turned his focus onto his first love of race car driving and currently competes in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship.

“I love being an actor but if I had to choose one over the other, I’d definitely pick racing cars.”

There is supposedly more information/pictures in the magazine it’s self so if anyone can get a copy and do some scans and post in the forum, that would be great.

Bryan Cranston’s ‘Breaking Bad’ Video & Photo Update

Breaking Bad, the much anticipated TV series starring Bryan Cranston, is now set to air on Sunday, January 20 at 10:00/9:00c on AMC. A little later than we previously reported.

Thanks to Thomas a reader for his tip, you can see behind the scene on set photos in our gallery here.

In an attempt to create internet hype AMC has spread “viral” videos on YouTube and other sites under random usernames, that appear as leaks. There have also been some more official promotional videos, making of videos and documentary clips. Watch them all in the above player.
